Shadow Beings: Inner Parts, Entity Attachments & Spiritual Healing

Shadow Beings: Inner Parts, Entity Attachments & Spiritual Healing

This post is based on my personal experience with shadow beings—both psychological and spiritual. It explores the inner shadows we carry as protector parts or unhealed pain, as well as the presence of external energies like entity attachments and lost spirits. While this topic can be uncomfortable for many, I believe it’s essential for healing, integration, and deep spiritual growth.

🪞 Shadows Within: Protector Parts, Pain, and Gifts

When we talk about the shadow within, we’re usually not talking about external entities—but parts of our own psyche. You can imagine your inner world as a home to many “characters” or parts, each of which formed to help you navigate life. These inner parts are often created to protect you.

👁 Recognizing Protector Parts

Have you ever noticed a voice inside your head that criticizes everything you do? Or felt like you “lost control” during a stressful moment and another side of you took over? These are often protector parts.

For example, an inner critic may have formed in childhood to anticipate and soften the blow of external criticism from parents, teachers, or peers. If you criticize yourself first, you can feel in control—perhaps even preventing someone else from doing it.

However, once you’ve left the toxic environments of your past, these inner strategies can become harmful. Thankfully, you can shift them. Through meditation or journaling (such as writing with your dominant hand and letting the inner part respond with your non-dominant hand), you can thank this part for its service and explain that the environment has changed. Offer it a new role—like becoming a calm advisor instead of a harsh critic.

💔 Inner Parts Holding Pain

Not all shadow parts are protectors. Some simply hold pain you were unable to process as a child. These parts need to be seen, felt, and held with compassion—like a scared child in need of a safe adult. When you feel safe within yourself, these parts may naturally come forward for healing. All you need to do is to allow them to feel and create calm and safe space for that pain to be expressed. Hold yourself in a way that you needed someone to hold you as a child.

🌟 Gifts Hidden in the Shadows

Sometimes, your hidden parts aren’t painful or aggressive—they’re gifts you were forced to hide. Maybe it’s your creativity, your spiritual sensitivity, or your intuitive connection to animals. These gifts may have been shamed or dismissed when you were young, but they begin to re-emerge once the more painful parts are integrated.

👻 Entity Attachments: When the Shadow Is Not Yours

Some shadow energies are not internal parts at all, but external entities that have attached themselves to you. While this may sound scary, it becomes far less so when you understand it.

Entities can only attach if there is something within you that resonates with them—typically a form of unprocessed pain. Your suffering and theirs are vibrating on a similar frequency. You may notice negative, intrusive thoughts that feel foreign, or behaviors that seem unlike you.

🌈 How to Work With an Attachment

The key is to shift your mindset. These beings are not evil monsters—they are lost, suffering parts of creation. They were born in the light too. Their presence is a signal that some part of your own pain has gone unhealed and they can assist you in the process of healing.

  1. Turn your awareness inward and ask: what part of my pain is this being connecting to? Sometimes you can even communicate directly to the being and they might actually help you find the answer.
  2. Allow yourself to feel and process that pain. When you do, the being can no longer anchor itself to you.
  3. Then, visualize a bridge of rainbow light leading to the source/light, and gently invite the being to return home.

If you have visionary perception, you may even see how the shadowy being transforms into a radiant light-being the moment it touches the light.

🌿 The Benefit of Inner Shadow Work

By doing this kind of work, you become more integrated, peaceful, and self-aware. You regain conscious control over your thoughts, actions, and reactions—and you rediscover gifts that were buried beneath pain or shame. It’s one of the most powerful paths to personal and spiritual freedom.

🌘 Shadows Outside: Working With Spirits in the Collective

While everyone has inner shadows, not everyone is called to work with external spirits. But some of us are. If you’ve seen or felt shadow beings, demonic entities, or lost souls—you may be one of the people meant to help them return to the light.

🧠 Mindset Is Everything

Most people are terrified of encountering spirits. This fear makes them vulnerable. The most important shift is this: these beings are not here to attack you—they’re here for help.

I see all such beings as patients, not threats. Even if they appear disturbing, I hold the knowing that they originated from the same source as everything else—and that if they come to me, they are ready to transform.

🎯 Two Types: Demonic & Lost

  • Demonic beings: These are long-lost entities attached to addiction, abuse, or destructive behavior. They may appear aggressive at first, but often calm quickly when seen without fear. Many are traumatized and simply want to be heard.
  • Lost spirits: These are recently deceased souls, often confused or in shock—such as victims of war or violence. They’re usually gentle and may simply need recognition and guidance to find their way to the light.

In both cases, neutral observation, compassion, and holding a vision of their transformation can help them return to source. I also believe these spirits express gratitude after being helped—and continue to support me energetically.

🌟 Why Do This Work?

External shadow work is not just about helping others—it transforms your own soul. It deepens your capacity for compassion and reminds you of your sacred role in the collective healing process. It’s not easy, but for those called to it, it is deeply fulfilling.

🌿 Plant Allies for Shadow Work

While this work can be done through meditation alone, certain plants can support it:

  • Sage, palo santo, and copal: Cleanse stagnant or shadow energy from body and space.
  • Rapé: Helps clear emotions and can also assist in entity release.

Of course, power plants such as Ayahuasca can amplify the process immensly, but they are not required. What matters most is your intention, neutrality, and compassion.

💬 Final Thoughts

Shadow beings—whether inner parts or external entities—aren’t something to fear. They’re invitations to heal, integrate, and remember the deep power of compassion. This is sacred work. And you don’t have to be afraid of the dark if you know how to bring the light.
